What do you need to do?

The Act mandates that certain premises and events must take proactive steps to prepare for potential terrorist attacks and ensure the safety of individuals in the event of an attack.

Standard Duty

For smaller premises with 200-799 individuals

Simple, low-cost activities to enhance safety and preparedness.

Enhanced Duty

For larger premises and public events with 800 or more individuals.

In addition to the standard duty obligations, enhanced duty premises are required to:

Implement additional safety protocols to reduce vulnerability to terrorism and physical harm.

Notify the Security Industry Authority (SIA) that you are responsible for the premises.

  • Yes, all organisations that have duties under the new regulations will need to comply, regardless of the likelihood or threat level. Training will help you understand what you need to do to be compliant , as well as improving customer service and ensuring customer safety and security.

  • Yes. We work with organisations every year to create bespoke statutory and mandatory training, especially within public services where the complex working environment means that training needs to be based on the context of the organisation or services being delivered.

  • Emergency preparedness training will allow every individual involved in any security procedure to be equipped with the knowledge and understanding they need to play their part. Without training it would introduce further risk of harm to the public and employees.

  • Yes, we offer bulk purchase discounts for organisations that need to train a large number of people.

  • Training will help equip you and/or your employees with the knowledge of what the organisation must put in place in order to comply with Martyn’s Law. By using our training, we can give you peace of mind that your employees aren’t at risk of misinterpreting the legislation, opening you up to risk of sanctions from the Security Industry Authority.

  • No. Our training will be suitable for all types of organisations and premises, whether you are a small venue or a large venue with hundreds of staff, or event planners with teams of volunteers and stewards.

  • Martyn’s Law training covers new regulations that are not part of other security training. Your staff will need to understand these new responsibilities, which training can provide. Our training may also cover some aspects that staff will already know about, highlighting the importance of counterterrorism efforts and acting as a good refresher for those who may not have taken qualifications and training recently.

  • Yes, training records provide evidence that you have taken steps to put in place appropriate measures for your premises. The training content will make sure that employees understand all the aspects of compliance, and can put in place the measures and procedures necessary for SIA compliance.
